The national police cracked down on a peaceful march organised by the population in anger against insecurity in the Ituri province locality of Lamila/Ariwara on Monday 15 March 2021.

According to Georges Kapiamba, president of the Congolese Association for Access to Justice ACAJ, who confirmed the information to 24 News, a crackdown by the national police resulted in several injuries and arrests of the population who were holding a memo to be handed over to the local Congolese state official after an attack this morning that displaced several people from Ituri to the province of North Kivu.

In addition, this human rights NGO demands without delay the release of these « populations bruised » on a daily basis by the negative forces that have been operating in this part of the country for several years.
