The alleged thief was lynched by the population on the night of Friday 13 March 2021 in the village of Bafwabango, in the territory of Mambasa in the province of Ituri.
According to the chief of the Ngayo group, who confirmed the news, the victim is well known in the area. Alexis Banasungwa, strongly condemns this case of mob justice which has become recurrent in the area as it is the 5th case to be recorded in this part of the country.
The administrative authority calls on the population of his jurisdiction to avoid this behaviour. It wishes that when a suspect is arrested, he/she should be brought to the security services.
