An unusual climate at the Kinshasa General Hospital on Thursday, February 18, 2021 where nurses and other administrative staff have skipped work to denounce what he calls the disorder of the city hall.
« We denounce the practices decried under Kabila which are not in line with the rule of law, » a nurse in the courtyard of the Kinshasa general hospital told 24 News before explaining;
« The problem is that the governor of the city wants to impose on us his big brother Colin Mbaka as doctor director of this big hospital while another one has been elected under the aegis of the Minister of Health ».
Furious, the workers burnt tyres and created a lot of tension with around 30 policemen deployed by the governor to pull off his coup.
« We are not going to give in to this dictatorship that Mr. Ngobila is trying to impose on us. However, we invite the head of state to come and see what his governor wants to do here, » explains this nurse.
For the moment, the situation is far from calm at the Maman Yemo Hospital because of the reinforced presence of the police and hospital officers who swear only to the installation of the elected and not imposed by Gentiny Ngobila.
