Clashes between the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) and Ugandan rebels of Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) were reported on Thursday, February 25, 2021 between the confluence of the Lusulubi and Semuliki rivers in Beni territory in North Kivu.

According to Lieutenant Antony Mwalushay, army spokesman in the Sokola 1 operational sector, it was during the combat patrol conducted by the loyalist forces that these assailants were hit by the FaRDC.

« Powerless in front of the regular army, the ADF had only one choice, to flee leaving more than 3 tonnes of cassava, visibly stolen from the fields of the peaceful population. Arrangements are being made to evacuate these country produce. For the time being, the FaRDC are in pursuit, » said Lieutenant Antony Mwalushay.
