Some inhabitants of the rural commune of Mungwalu, an entity located in the territory of Djugu in the province of Ituri, move to the town of Bunia.
According to the Deputy Chief of the Kilomoto district, this situation is the result of a kind of psychosis that has gripped the population a few weeks ago since the FaRDC launched an assault on CODECO’s assailants in Mungwalu.
The Base Chief adds that the population is reportedly fearing reprisals from these rebels after the FaRDC inflicted a heavy loss on them last week.
Lombilandendey, calls on the population not to give in to rumours but rather to collaborate with its army for the return of peace in the area.
