After the latest attack by Ugandan rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), in which at least 18 civilians were killed by the attackers, Ndalya village in Ituri has been empty of its population.

According to Christophe Munyanderu, coordinator of the Irumu branch of the NGO-DH Convention for the Respect of Human Rights (CRDH), the village of Ndalya is emptying because its population fears reprisals from ADF rebels.

« After this latest attack, the locality of Ndalya is no longer liveable. The inhabitants have moved to supposedly safe places, » he said.

The CRDH calls on the military authorities to reinforce the FaRDC in this area. It also calls for the launch of tracking operations for these assailants so that peace can be restored in this part of the country.
