A Congolese will now be part of the first instance of the judges of the International Court of Justice. It is Antoine Mondua who was elected by his peers as vice president of this judicial body at the end of a plenary session on Thursday 11 March 2021.

At the head of this international judicial body, Fatou Bensouda was replaced by Piotr Hofmonski and Luz del Carmen was elected first vice president, all for a three-year term with immediate effect.

It should be recalled that this vote took place by videoconference for reasons related to the COVID-19.
